This was taken in Orvieto. I never thought much about movement in stone until the local guide talked about it. Then I understood when I saw this - a detailed scene frozen in stone after Christ's death created over 500 years ago with a chisel.
The more I heard about Michaelangelo, the more I was impressed with him. Not only could he see what was to be in a block of marble....the man could paint. If you missed it, go back to my photos of Rome to see his work on the Sistine ceiling and his Last Judgement on the wall.
