Our first stay-over stop was in Gaffney, SC, the peach capital of South Carolina for RV maintenance. Roaming around the area to view the local sites, we did a walking tour with Millie though Cowpens, a National Battlefield where the Battle of Cowpens took place January 17, 1781, part of the Southern Campaign 1778-1781 of the Revolutionary War.

We had rain about once a month. The temperature during the day got up into the 70's and the nights into the 40's. Around Christmas, a few nights were in the low 30's which meant we had to leave our faucet trickling to prevent freezing pipes. A few days did reach the 80's otherwise it was a mild winter in the desert.
